I recently began replacing my treadmill workouts with the NordicTrack Classic Pro Skier. I find that I can burn about 200 calories in a half-hour which is an improvement over the number of calories burnt walking briskly on a treadmill. While this machine has its pros, it also has some cons. If you are considering purchasing one I would recommend you try it out somewhere where you can get a full workout in to see what it is really like. In addition to that, you can also try Hip Flexors Info wich is another equally effective and amazing device that you can use in order to keep yourself fit and your body in shape.
One great feature of the machine is that there are no motors or electric parts. This will cut down on electricity bills. It also means that your machine will likely last longer because there is nothing to break. I have a Pro Skier that is older than my now broken treadmill that is still working flawlessly. It is sturdily constructed out of wood and metal – no plastic parts.
The resistance is adjustable from very easy to so hard that I am not strong enough to move the skis. I believe this machine is adjustable enough to work with people of any fitness level and capable of growing with you. In addition to the leg workout, there are also arm pulls to get an upper-body workout. There is an independent resistance adjuster for the arms as well. There are five holes in the base to raise and lower the incline. Obviously the higher the incline, the harder the workout. While the machine is fully adjustable, it all needs to be done by hand and you need to stop your workout to do so. With a treadmill, it can be adjusted while you are working out.
I bought a couple of additional accessories to add to my NordicTrack. First I bought a book holder which is large enough to hold my laptop. I use this to take care of any extra work or read an eBook. It makes my workout go so much faster. An electrical attachment can be purchased that plugs into the machine to measure distance, speed, time, calories, and heart rate. I like this feature because I’m always curious about how well I’m doing. I also bought a small clip-on fan which works great to keep me cool.
The major problem I have with this machine is that I always feel like I am leaning forward at an awkward angle. This sometimes puts additional strain on my back. However, this has not become such a large problem that I have stopped using the machine. It is adjustable by height and you must make sure it is properly adjusted for you.
While I believe the NordicTrack Classic Pro Skier is a good product, I really suggest that you try it out before purchasing one because they are not right for everyone.
